finally got some privacy. using the comp in parent's room cos it has a chair. going to work later. but let's talk a bit about my week. very interesting.
i met my first ever customer that really and truly scared me. she's not scary as in scary you know. it's more like...erm...weird sort of scary. i'm not going into detail here cos it's rather insulting and offensive if she ever sees it. but all i'll say is that she's very...open about most of herself. ask me if you really want to know.
then there was the lady yesterday who bought $100 worth of paper panties. 7 in a pack, 3 packs for $10. that's about...210 paper panties. all i can say is, maybe she's going on a very long holiday. either that, or she's not in the habit of wearing cloth panties. but i got a shock when she appeared at the counter with the basket full of nothing else but paper panties. oh well.
on fitting room duty the other day, there was this elderly lady who came to the store. for some reason, the rest of the staff had mysteriously disappeared. only the bra promoters were around. cos they were all wearing the same uniform as the staff, this lady got quite worked up, thinking that they were all congregating there and not serving customers at the rest of the store. she needed someone to follow her around and help her shop cos she has problems with eyesight etc. so me ended up following her around. lucky she was satisfied with the second pair she tried. else i'd probably be running errands for her forever.
i realised that it's basically the temp staff that have to do cashiering. and i don't like that. i mean like, yesterday me and francisca had an emergency at the cash till cos we didn't have enough change. and there was a long queue. and the adjacent till didn't have small change either. so ended up asking some of the cash paying customers to try to give exact change. then, when it was less crowded, francisca rushed to the cash office to change money. after she rushed back and we put the change in, so few people paid in cash. so we had such a hard time counting the small change when we float out. sigh.
francisca said that on the sat when i didn't come, there was a problem with the cash machines. the entire store's machines all hung except counter 14. so that day, they were so free. don't need to cashier at all. sigh. why wasn't i there when it happened?
moving on to other stuff. i'll probably be performing for the choir concert. i more or less got the hang of the songs. only i can't pronounce the words for "cerf volont". but i know the tune. :D worst case, depend on christy. heeheehee! went for the practice on saturday. their abba songs were so cute. it's the dance steps lah. those type of steps more suitable for small groups than for the whole choir. the audience will be in stitches. their "super trouper" is cool. wish i could sing it. the "gloria" with tk choir is great too. really grand. gerald has become the 'legendary' pianist of tk. kwei was making fun of him that day. the j1s are plotting ways and means of making mr yong malu on stage. they were telling zofia to hold her note really long so that mr yong will have to hold his hand there for really long and maluate himself. evil they are. poor mr yong.
the nus fass open house. went for the lit, sociology, social work and maths talks. lit was ok. i think i'll probably be taking it. maths was weird. there was just 8 of us in the small room. the speaker flashed one transparency (OHP transparency) and talked for 5 minutes. then he said "that's all i have to say. feel free to ask me any questions. feel free to leave if you want to." *gasp* that is the weirdest talk i ever attended. anyway, maths in arts fac is a shared major. no honours unless transfer to science. wanna try that too. someone said that in the first year, can take a bit of everything. later on then declare major. luckily like that. cos i have absolutely no idea what i want to take. sigh. too many things liao. but everyone tells me don't take sociology. but i think it sounded interesting. hmm...
